Has anyone dealt with Capital Accounts debt collection for a dental bill?

  • Peter Johnson

I'm hoping someone here has some advice. A while back, I had a dental procedure and thought my insurance had it covered. Then out of nowhere, I started getting calls from a company called Capital Accounts.

They're incredibly aggressive. They call me multiple times a day, sometimes really early in the morning. It feels like harassment. To make things worse, I pulled my credit report and saw they reported this debt to all three credit bureaus already, even though I was never sent a written notice to validate the debt.

I'm not even 100% sure I owe what they say I do. I've read that dental billing is often a mess with insurance payments not being applied correctly. It feels like they are just trying to pressure me into paying before I can even figure out what's going on. It's really stressing me out.

I was reading about how to stop this kind of thing and found some info on how to stop Capital Accounts debt collection harassment, which was helpful but also a bit overwhelming.

I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation. How did you get them to stop calling? Were you able to get the incorrect info off your credit report? Any advice would be really appreciated.
