When you have to switch MBR to GPT, there is MBR2GPT that comes along with the operating system and is used for the process. However, before performing any operation, create a full backup of your vital files as any alteration of the partition table poses certain dangers. The MBR2GPT utility does not delete any of the partitions on the disk, however, both the disk itself and the operating system should comply with some necessary conditions. In order to perform the conversion, start the Command Prompt with administrator rights and enter the necessary validation command. If validation is successful, the conversion command can be executed.
