We were discussing the rapid advancement of generative AI at the office today, and the topic of security came up.

Many people believe that within a year, even the most advanced fake image detector will be unable to distinguish between a real photograph and a machine-made one.

If we can’t trust our eyes anymore, how are we supposed to verify history or legal evidence in the future?

It’s a scary thought that might change how we interact with media forever. Will there always be a need for a fake image detector?
