Wish someone had told me about transmission maintenance years ago

Feel pretty stupid right now and hoping maybe my mistake helps someone else avoid the same situation. Bought a 2015 Accord brand new, drove it for eight years, 230,000km, never once touched the transmission fluid. Didn't even know it was a thing that needed attention honestly, always thought you just change engine oil and that's it, car runs until it doesn't. Started noticing a few months ago that it was shifting a little rough between gears but I kept putting it off because life gets busy. Then last week I'm on my way to Abu Dhabi and suddenly the gearbox starts slipping badly, check engine light flashing, loss of power, the whole nightmare. Towed it to a shop and they basically told me the transmission is finished, fluid was black and burnt, internal damage too severe to bother with. Now I'm looking at either a massive bill for Gearbox Repair Sharjah or selling the car as is and taking a huge loss. All because I didn't know something as simple as fluid changes every 60,000km could have prevented this. Just wanted to put this out there for anyone else who might not know, transmissions need love too. Learn from my expensive mistake and check your owner's manual.
